We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have reached our target of £5,000 in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2017! THANK YOU so much to everyone who made a donation to our Rainbow House Kitchen Appeal - we are overwhelmed by your support and generosity. Every single penny you have donated will go towards updating the kitchen at our #ExeterRainbowHouse and really will make a lasting difference to our tenants.
The #Christmas Challenge17 is the UK's biggest online match funding campaign, run by the Big Give online donation platform. It offers supporters of participating charities the opportunity to double their donations. For example, an online donation of £100 is doubled to £200. If Gift Aid is claimed, it could be worth £225.
We have a match-funding pot of £2,500, kindly contributed by the Reed Foundation (UK), The Exeter, the Westmark Trust, and two individual supporters. This means that we can match £-for-£ up to £2,500 worth of donations made during the week long challenge which runs until midday on Tuesday 5th December.
Through the #ChristmasChallenge17 we aim to raise £5,000 for our Rainbow House Kitchen Appeal. After almost a decade of use the kitchen at our Exeter Rainbow House is looking a bit tired, old and in need of some TLC! We need to replace and update the kitchen, to upgrade equipment, reorganise the space and make some adaptations to the flow of the room to meet our tenants’ changing and developing needs. As a charity, one of our key aims is to encourage tenants to develop life skills, helping them to gain in confidence, and a new kitchen suited to their current needs will really help us to achieve this.
